Delhi Traffic Challans Pending? Here’s the Fastest Way to Clear Them at a Discount

If you have Delhi traffic challans pending, this week is your chance to settle them for less. Delhi Traffic Police and DSLSA are holding a special Lok Adalat on November 8 (10 am–4 pm) across seven court complexes. Only challans listed on the Delhi Traffic Police portal on or before July 31 and forwarded to the virtual court will be taken up.

What’s happening and Who Qualifies?

This is the first Lok Adalat after the new window opened for downloads at 10 am on Monday, November 3. Do note two hard caps: a daily 50,000 challan download limit and a total cap of 2 lakh challans for this drive. If the quota fills up, the portal shows a message asking you to try again the next day at 10 am.

Eligibility is narrow by design. The Lok Adalat will only hear compoundable challans that are already in the virtual court pipeline by the July 31 cutoff. You must carry an online token and appointment letter; cases without these won’t be heard.

Where to go on November 8?

Proceedings run across Delhi’s seven district court complexes: Patiala House, Karkardooma, Tis Hazari, Saket, Rohini, Dwarka, and Rouse Avenue. These are the standard venues DSLSA uses for traffic Lok Adalats.

Step-by-step: How to get your Token and Settle Quickly

  1. Download your notices/challans
Go to the Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat page and enter the required details. When the window is open, you’ll get your token number and appointment letter via SMS/email with the date, time, and venue. Because of the daily cap, log in right at 10 am.
  2. Check your eligibility
Verify that your pending challans are the ones listed on the portal and were forwarded to the virtual court on or before July 31. Only those will be taken up in this Lok Adalat.
  3. Carry the right documents
Take a print or soft copy of the appointment letter/token, your ID proof, vehicle RC, and any prior communication related to the challans. Officials have clarified that no token = no hearing.
  4. Reach the assigned court in time
Sessions on Nov 8 run 10 am–4 pm. Plan for parking and basic queues; the previous Lok Adalat saw 1.8 lakh downloads, so footfall can spike.
  5. Settle on the spot
These are compromise proceedings. In most compoundable cases, you’ll get a discounted settlement and a receipt that closes the case, saving you future notices and court dates.

Pro tips to avoid missing the window

  • Try early, try often: the 50,000/day download cap is usually met within minutes. If you see the limit message, log back in the next day at 10 am.
  • Match details exactly: ensure your vehicle number, RC name, and mobile on Vahan are correct so your challans map cleanly to your profile. This reduces errors at the counter.
  • Bring backups: keep digital and printed copies of your token and ID. If you’re handling multiple vehicles, carry separate sets.

Quick FAQ on Delhi Traffic Challans Pending:

My Delhi traffic challans are pending but from August—am I eligible?

No. This Lok Adalat only covers challans listed on the portal by July 31 and moved to the virtual court.

I don’t see my challan—what now?

It may be outside the cutoff, not compoundable, or mapped to a different mobile/vehicle detail. Re-check the portal and Vahan details, and try again at 10 am when the daily window opens.

Do I really need a token and appointment letter?

Yes. Without a valid online token/appointment, cases will not be heard on Nov 8.

If you’ve got Delhi traffic challans pending, Nov 8 is your best shot at a clean, discounted closure—provided your challans meet the July 31 cutoff and you secure a token. Act at 10 am, get your appointment letter, and walk into the assigned court with documents in hand.
